I believe in respect for the original creation. To me, authentic design is that which demonstrates its creation as original. If there is no authenticity, to me it is a copy, and a copy is a crime. Unfortunately, there are copies everywhere. I see that many designs were appropriated from others, and from the risks that other designers have taken and earned.
  • Obligation to myself
I will design unique and authentic products.

  • Obligation to the user
I will create unique experiences to help the user solve their needs.

  • Obligation to other designers
I will not directly or indirectly mimic another designer.

  • Obligation to the client
I will only accept projects for which I am qualified.

I will not accept instructions from a client that involve plagiarism.

  • Obligation to the professional community
I will practice the profession while raising the bar in the community of designers in order to create a world with better products.

  • Obligation to the planet
I will create products that do not harm the environment.

Personally, I believe that if I take responsibility for my actions, I am more sincere. I believe in vulnerability. The more vulnerable you are, the more authentic you are. Being vulnerable towards others makes you stronger. As such, I am responsible for creating good products that are accessible to people and sustainable for the environment. That is, the products should solve a problem, not generate more.
  • Obligation to myself
I will design human technology products that create correct actions. The products will solve problems rather than lead
    to more.

I will not work for companies that do not have regulated competition laws such as digital/data privacy, or that have short-term thinking based on profit at all cost.

I am responsible for what I design.

  • Obligation to the user
The user will be more important than the profits of the company.

It will be accessible to any user.

  • Obligation to other designers
I will open the debate if I do not agree with something, or I will at least express my opinion, because I believe that it is our responsibility to change the trend and the debate.

I will help my teammates with their tasks if I see that their work runs a risk.

  • Obligation to the client
I will comply with deadlines that I commit to.

I will educate my client about the methodologies and techniques of a good design.

  • Obligation to the professional community
I will promote social, esthetic, and sustainable norms of the design community.

I will work on one annual project for free to teach the community about the creation of ethical and responsible products.

  • Obligation to the planet
I will act in an ecological manner, respecting the environment.

I will act with social responsibility, to create a more human society.

I believe that one should treat others how they would like to be treated. One must think about the feelings of others, appreciate their qualities and talents, and refrain from judging their opinions or beliefs. If we are willing to listen to criticism, we will be able to improve as people and to create better products. Criticism is what pushes you to improve, and when you are critical, you are truly optimistic. Optimism is what we need in designs.
  • Obligation to myself
I will not accept or assume any job that I am aware will interfere with my personal interests.

  • Obligation to the user
I will help the design to be visually appealing to the user but not addictive.

I will not use the call attention model.

  • Obligation to other designers
I will not compete with another designer through deliberate fee reduction or unfair competition.

I will not accept a job that I know another designer has been working on without informing them.

I will not belittle the work or denigrate the reputation of a fellow designer.

  • Obligation to the client
I will respect my client’s materials with absolute confidentiality.

I will not disclose information that is not approved by the client.

I will help my client create responsible products that lead to social inclusion.

I will not work simultaneously for two clients that are direct competitors.

  • Obligation to the professional community
I will maintain the honor and dignity of the profession.

  • Obligation to the planet
I will respect environmental processes that are related with my product.

I am a person who believes in the constancy in learning, or at least the intention to learn. I truly believe that being indefinitely curious is the basis of innovation, and that it takes discipline and sacrifice. Opportunities do not exist; you are the one to create them. As such, errors are not mistakes; they are lessons.
  • Obligation to myself
I will strive to improve every day in my work through constant learning.

I will take risks. If I make mistakes in my actions, I will learn from them and move forward.

I will expose myself to different points of view and I will make sure to get different sources of information, not just what I want to hear.

  • Obligation to the user
I will try to improve every day to help the user with their problem.

I will utilize user feedback to improve the product.

  • Obligation to other designers
We will learn from errors or failures as a team.

I will listen to criticism from my teammates, because they are the ones who push me to improve. When you are critical, you are truly optimistic.

  • Obligation to the client
I will work to understand stakeholder needs.

    I will correct my mistakes.

  • Obligation to the professional community
I will assist the professional community by educating clients about the methodologies and techniques that we consider to be good design.

  • Obligation to the planet
I will create good products to have social change. As designers, we have no choice. We have a social problem, and not everyone recognizes that it is a problem; we must change that mentality.

I believe in human virtue, like Aristotle. I believe in balance and that extremes can only do bad. I believe that quality of life improves when you can harmonize your professional development with your most personal goals. In other words, it is best when conciliation is not a supposed theory but rather a practical reality.
  • Obligation to myself
I will seek happiness both in my professional and work environment
    (work life balance).

  • Obligation to the user
I will design equitably for all: Design for all.

  • Obligation to other designers
As a leader, I will divide work among my team in an equitable fashion.

I will explain the degree of participation to each designer in the design process.

  • Obligation to the planet
I will create good products to have social change. As designers, we have no choice. We have a social problem, and not everyone recognizes that it is a problem; we must change that mentality.

  • Obligation to the professional community
I will distribute knowledge and experience between the different areas of design.

  • Obligation to the planet
I will make design decisions in a sustainability balance (people, planet, profits).
